The WAINS Cloud is the digital control center for modern, connected pest monitoring. It enables centralized monitoring and analysis of all deployed devices – from our traptice® insect and rodent traps to additional sensors and third-party systems.


At its core is a single goal: to make all relevant data easily, securely, and continuously accessible – regardless of location, device, or user role.


Our platform is built on the proven Cumulocity technology, providing a scalable and powerful foundation that meets both current and future demands. Customers benefit from high stability, technical flexibility, and continuous updates — all without having to manage the underlying infrastructure.

Connectivity

Maximum flexibility for sensor integration with the WAINS Cloud.

The WAINS Cloud enables versatile connectivity for a wide range of sensors — including both WAINS proprietary hardware and numerous LoRaWAN-compatible third-party devices.


Supported Devices & Applications:

  • WAINS Proprietary Devices: 
    traptice® insect, traptice® rodent, traptice® rodent + PIR
  • Third-Party LoRaWAN Sensors: 
    Temperature and CO₂ sensors, motion detectors, smart buttons, and more.
  • Special Applications: 
    For example, temperature monitoring during heat treatments for bedbug control.


By leveraging LoRaWAN technology, users benefit from energy-efficient data transmission with long range — ideal for large or hard-to-reach locations.


Smooth IT integration

The WAINS Cloud offers an open API for easy integration with existing IT systems — such as online documentation solutions or facility management software. This eliminates media discontinuities and duplicate data entry, ensuring a consistent overview of all relevant information at all times.

WAINS AI instance

The WAINS AI instance enhances digital monitoring with automated real-time image analysis. Rather than simply collecting image data, the AI analyzes daily captures from the traptice® traps — quickly, objectively, and reliably.


Two images are captured per trap, merged into a composite image, and automatically analyzed. The AI detects, counts, and classifies relevant insect species — including Diptera and beetles.


With customizable thresholds, automatic alerts can be triggered in case of increased infestation levels — delivered directly via the dashboard or by email.


This enables early detection of infestations, faster response times, and efficient management of all monitoring processes — centralized and location-independent.

The WAINS software provides location-independent access to all monitoring data — whether at the office, on the go, or directly on site. Access is flexible via web browser, tablet, or mobile app


The user-friendly interface is optimized for practical field use. All registered devices — from traptice® rodent and insect traps to external LoRaWAN sensors — can be centrally managed and monitored.


When a snap trap is triggered, a real-time notification is sent. Additionally, connected sensors capture relevant environmental data such as temperature, humidity, or vibrations. All information is presented in a structured and easy-to-understand dashboard — enabling efficient and transparent monitoring.

Smart Rules

Automated responses to relevant events.

With the WAINS Cloud Smart Rules, you can define custom rules to automate monitoring processes precisely. Events or measurements are detected by the system and trigger predefined actions — all without manual intervention.


Use Cases:

  • Automatic alerts when insect thresholds are exceeded.
  • Notifications for temperature deviations or unusual sensor readings.

All active rules can be viewed centrally in the dashboard and adjusted or expanded flexibly at any time — precisely tailored to specific requirements. By using Smart Rules, monitoring becomes more efficient, teams are relieved of workload, and potential risks can be identified and addressed early.

Enterprise Tenant

The WAINS Enterprise Tenant offers advanced features for customizing the platform to fit organization-specific structures and processes.

User Roles and Rights

The WAINS platform offers a user-friendly system for precise management of roles and access rights. This allows individual control over access to devices and data — tailored exactly to user groups, applications, or specific devices.


Each user is assigned specific rights that can be granted at the group level or for individual devices. This allows, for example, granting certain employees access to specific customer devices on an individual basis.


Extended Management Capabilities with the Enterprise Tenant:

In the Enterprise version, additional features are available through the 'Administration' application:


  • Management of users, roles, and tenants
  • Control of applications and Smart Rules
  • Configuration of platform-specific settings.
